The SoundSwitch is an audio mixer which connects to the Amiga's floppy drive connector.

The Soundswitch does work with sound cards cards like AD516 or AD1012, but it is a standalone sound switcher designed primarily for the Toaster which is missing audio switching capabilities.

The install software installs drivers to use under the Toaster 4.0 and higher switcher interface and also Studio16 which it installs a copy of with the switcher controls.

It allows you to connect up to four audio sources and one audio output for sound mixing. You can also use balanced and unbalanced connections. The software also allows you to link the audio sources for use with fading on the Video Toaster, so that when the picture changes the audio is also faded from one source to another.
