This processor has been used on many accelerator cards and as the base processor for several Amiga models. The primary difference between the MC68030 and the MC68EC030 is that it does not have an internal MMU, and it cannot support an external one. The MC68EC030 is actually an MC68030 where the memory management unit failed during testing. Consequently, software can sometimes report an MMU as being available, when it is infact faulty and should not be used.
