The SIMMfonie is a ZIP to SIMM converter primarily designed for use in A3000 and A3000-T systems, however it may be used with other devices such as Bridgeboards. The device sits in the sockets which would normally be occupied by the now extremely expensive and slow ZIP chips and allows the user to add two standard 72pin SIMMS. There are two versions of the SIMMfonie, one designed for the A3000 and the other is for the A3000T. This reason is because the distance between the pin sockets of the ZIP chips on each motherboard is slightly different.
